You should check out ratking’s LD25 entry “Tale of Scale” if you haven’t already! It was a great scale manipulation game based on perspective:

From what I’ve seen, it feels awkward to have to look down at something you want to scale below you. Maybe give the player the ability to mark what they want to scale, so they don’t have to keep the cursor on it when they want to scale it?

This game looks really cool and has a lot of potential to blow minds. I really hope that after the game is officially finished, that you either keep putting out puzzles for it or give the players the tools to make/share their own puzzles.

You got plugged by “The Final Bossman” show during his PAX episode. That’s how I found out about Scale. It was the only indie he covered that I HAD to know more about. It’s remarkably inventive. You’re going to hate me for saying this, but have you been contacted by Valve? They love poaching talent. ;)

[…] Eminent game designer/author/madman Steve Swink is making Scale, a game which I’m pretty sure at least partially mimics what’s going on in his head all the time. You have a gun-like device that can grow or shrink objects. All objects. Grow a butterfly until you can jump on its back. Shrink a chasm and step over it. Grow a toy house until you can walk through the front door and then find another toy house inside. It’s just as insane as you would think. I will be providing the main title theme and a few other tracks. Check out more here. […]

Looking awesome! Definitely my favorite indie title to come out of PAX. Do you have a release date in mind? I would love to see this game on Steam Greenlight, it’s really the best way to get this out to potential customers. Looking forward to seeing how this ends up!

[…] Scale First-person puzzler December 2014 Scale takes a mind-bending and technologically impressive concept and places it in the player’s hand in the form of a gun, but instead of thinking with portals, you’re thinking with shrinking. Or enlarging. See a tiny model house? Expand it and walk inside. As a tech demo, it’s already amazing. If its puzzle design can follow, this will be something special. […]
